View validation errors on a Gift Aid Claim

This article explains where to find Gift Aid validation errors when a claim won’t send to HMRC.

When submitting your gift aid claim, Charity CRM may prevent submission if it finds issue with any of the data being submitted.

To see your validation errors, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Finance in the menu on the left.

  2. Click Gift Aid, then Claims.

  3. Search for your claim and click it.

  4. Select the Online Claim tab.

  5. Find Validation Errors and click the filter button against it.

  6. Select Is not blank, then Go to confirm.

This will cause the sublist to bring back just the records which failed validation. Fixing these before resubmitting will allow the claim to be sent.

📌 Note: Validation is handled against the gift aid declaration instead of the contact record. When correcting any invalid data, please make sure to also correct this on the declaration, as otherwise the claim will still fail to submit to HMRC.
