Exclude specific records from a gift aid claim

Choose which contacts, groups, or saved searches to exclude from your gift aid claim before submitting it.

Written by Cristiana Ghinea

When generating a gift aid claim it's possible to exclude certain contacts from the claim. There are three types of exclusion we can apply:

  • Individual contacts.

  • Groups of contacts.

  • Saved searches.

To exclude records from a gift aid claim:

  1. Click Finance, then click Gift Aid.

  2. Select Claims.

  3. Find an existing claim using the search bar or create a new claim.

  4. Click Exclude, then choose either Contact, Group, or Saved search.

    • A message appears explaining that the selected records will not be included in the claim.

  5. Click OK to confirm.

  6. Select the specific contact, group, or saved search you want to exclude.

The exclusion will now appear in the claim. If you want to remove an exclusion, click the three dots next to it and select Delete.

📌 Note: Adding or removing exclusions will not effect any existing calculations against the gift aid claim. In order for these to be applied, you'll need to recalculate the gift aid claim using the Calculate button, before submitting this to HMRC.
