Memberships renew when they get close to the end of their current period. You may wish to delete or otherwise remove this period.
There are currently two ways to delete a new membership period. These are a standard deletion and cancelling the membership.
Delete a pending period manually
If the new membership period has not yet started it's possible to delete the pending period manually by following the steps below:
Click Membership and then click Members.
Use the search bar to find the member's record.
Click the Details tab.
Scroll to the Membership Periods section.
Pending periods are usually listed at the bottom.
Click the three dots next to the pending period, then click Delete.
Confirm you want to delete the period.
This removes the pending membership period.
⚠️ Important: If the membership type is set to auto renew, a new period may be generated again during nightly processing. Any updates you need to make, such as changing the renewal type, should be completed the same day to avoid repeating these steps.
Cancel a membership period that has already started
If the new membership period has already started, it cannot be deleted by normal means. Instead, cancelling a new membership period will result in the current period being deleted, and the membership will revert back to the previous period.
To cancel a membership that has already started:
Click Membership and then click Members.
Use the search bar to find the member's record.
Click Manage, then select Cancel Membership.
Enter the cancellation date and reason.
Confirm the cancellation.
This will delete the current period and set the old, renewed period back to being the current period. A cancellation will prevent the system from renewing the membership again.
📌 Note: If any payment data has been placed against the new membership period, they cannot be deleted.
