Unsubscribe action

Learn the difference between the unsubscribe actions 'Remove from purpose category' and 'Remove from mailing purpose'.

Written by Cristiana Ghinea

When sending a mailing via third party you may find that a recipient unsubscribes from the mailings. Unsubscribe actions let us modify how the system handles this.

There are currently 6 unsubscribe actions within Access Charity CRM:

  • Do nothing.

  • Remove from group with which they were loaded.

  • Remove from mailing preference used in this mailing.

  • Remove from mailing purpose used in this mailing.

  • Remove from mailing purpose category used in this mailing (for example, a group of purposes in the same category).

  • Mark the contact as do not contact.

For example, if you send a mailing with a purpose of 'Newsletter' and set the unsubscribe action to 'Remove from purpose', an unsubscribe would cause the contact to be marked as denied from the mailing purpose. This will prevent them being mailed for newsletters in the future.
